
Ryan Jaynes
HEAD COACH
Ryan Jaynes is committed to nurturing a passion for hockey within his community. He has been playing the sport for as long as he can remember, beginning his career in 2002 with the Junior A Cobourg Cougars and Campbellford Rebels. He continued with the Cougars and Rebels until 2004, when he was traded to the Lindsay Muskies, ultimately concluding his Junior A career with the Cobourg Cougars and Trenton Sting. Over his Junior A tenure, Ryan recorded 5 goals, 8 assists, and an impressive 387 penalty minutes—a stat he takes pride in.
After finishing his playing career, Ryan transitioned into coaching in 2007 as the Interim Head Coach and Assistant Coach for the Port Hope Predators Jr. A, where he led the team to the conference finals. In 2009, he began coaching minor hockey, culminating in a championship win with his team in the OMHA in 2020. In 2023, Ryan made his Junior C coaching debut as Head Coach of the Port Hope Panthers, guiding the team to the division finals.
With a solid background in both playing and coaching, Ryan now brings his expertise to the Trent Hills Thunder, making a lasting impact on young athletes both on and off the ice. Outside of hockey, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, embodying the teamwork and dedication he instills in his players.

Cory Lessard
ASSISTANT COACH
Cory Lessard was born and raised in Tweed, where he has build strong connections with both the community and the game of hockey. Cory is married and a proud father of two - a daughter and son. Professionally, Cory works as a Distribution Lines Engineer with Hydro One.
Having played all of his hockey in tweed, Cory has a deep-rooted passion for the sport. He is a long-time member of Tweed Minor Hockey and has spent four years coaching his son's rep hockey team. Additionally, Cory is a part-owner of the Tweed Oil Kings Senior A Hockey Team where is he excited to contribute to the growth and success of the team.
Outside of hockey, Cory enjoys spending time in the outdoors, whether hunting or at the family cottage. He is thrilled and grateful for the opportunity with the Thunder and looks forward to seeing the team grow and develop. Cory is committed to watching these young hockey players evolve not only as athletes but also as young men. With strong ownership, leadership and a clear direction, Cory believes the future of the team is incredibly promising.
